a.k.a: Escalofrío
Redemption films are releasing this rare cult Spanish film for the first time ever in the UK, passed uncut by the BBFC.
Satan’s blood was made in Spain, 1978, only three years after General Franco's death and consequently created in a climate of anti-censorship. It is a dark and disturbing horror film, reminiscent of ‘Rosemary's Baby’, in which a young couple are lured into a world of Satanism. After being enticed to a country house for the weekend it becomes apparent that their hosts are decidedly sinister after they are discovered not only eating a wild animal –alive - but are also heard growling when sexually aroused.. From here on it is a battle of wills between the couple and their devilish hosts while a black atmosphere of satanic poison seems to pervade the whole mansion, thwarting their every attempt to leave.
Satan’s Blood is a highly atmospheric and stylishly menacing film full of unnerving and at times shocking scenes. It has an equally high flesh count that allows the viewer to recover from the gore only by watching the occasional satanic orgy – not for the faint hearted.!
